A family firm building homes since 1998.

We started with four houses on a farm track outside Baldock. Twenty-six years on we still buy the land, draw the schemes and lay the brick ourselves.

Our drawing office in a converted granary, plans laid out on the table

The drawing office, in the old granary at Baldock. Every scheme starts on this table.

We still buy the land, draw the plans and lay the brick.

Tom Hartley built his first four houses on a farm track outside Baldock in 1998. He sold them to four families he still knows by name.

Twenty-six years on we are a team of sixty, with our own bricklayers, joiners and site managers. We build around a hundred homes a year, never more than four schemes at once.

Every scheme starts with a family who owns a field and wants to know it will be done well. Most of our land comes to us by word of mouth.
